I was pretty much aware of that the sky was white. Even thought it came out on my images.

Study of value
Blue and Orange are COMPLEMTARY colors which means that colors opposite each other on the color wheel. They produce strong optical effects.
However they have same value.
Even though Blue and Orange work together as complementary colors making strong effect part of our brain see the colors as the same value.
So what?

Ambiguous Figure Ground Composition
FIGURE : An image that appears to be somewhat closer to the viewer than the background; also called positive shape.
GROUND : The area that appears to be farthest from the viewer; also called "background" or "field."FIGURE-GROUND REVERSAL : A composition in which it is difficult to tell what is figure and what is background; also called "figure-ground ambiguity."
So the goal of this job is that make ambiguous what is FIGURE and what is GROUND
To create figure-ground reversal effect the portion should be about 50/50 percent and used similar shape.
If I take a photo aiming at the same effect, it will be like,
something like that?
If there is different shape used
it will stand out. If there is closed figure used
It will stand out as well.(guess what where is closed figure?)
For the job, figure-ground ambiguity, I should avoid to use different shape or closed figure, however, at the same time, this is the way how we get attention.
When we take photo we want our object to stand out as a closed figure. That is why we should see negative space when we take photo because that can be the reason for an object lose its quality as a closed figure.

How 400 color looks like.
I just finished a job for two dimensional design class. The job was that making 400 different color. I used only five different color. Red, blue, yellow, white, and black. I am sure this practice help me a lot to be aware color and I have been thinking that I might need to take color theory class to have better eyes for photograph, I am having second thought after having this job though. What a job!! It took me forever to finish. When I was still doing this job, before sleep the image painting brush making color came up to me as soon as I closed my eyes. I could not summit this project on time. I kind of regret not because I lost point but because I lost the chance to compare my job to other students job. It is amazing the color came out so differently depends on each person. Actually this job shows the person's personality according to my professor.
Here is my personality!

Open Shade Experiment
Nice out today!
I walked through a lovely park.I saw same kind of flowers in different lighting condition, one is under direct sun and the other one is in the shade.
Open shade means the object is in shade but upward open (if I remember it right)
So the right side of flowers are in the open shade.

App-project365
This app allows to store every days story. I downloaded this app long time ago and activate now. Actually half of April story is missing.
I have not so great sense of time so often I feel things happen a hundred years ago. With this apps I know things happen not that long ago. The best thing of this app beside it is I am getting aware of the moment. I found myself taking picture with my eyes as I am getting used to use this app. It is good to have some kind of responsibility and routine for...for...for...(don't know what to say)...
Since I got into using this app I take any kind of photo whenever I remember it. If a great moment comes I just delete it and put new one. If another great moment comes in the same day I delete old one and put new one again.
Today's photo so far.

Transforming Local Color to Local Value
This is a job for the 2 Dimensional Design class required for the photography major students.
I took this picture because my professor said that flower or food photographs will be good for the next project.
The project title is "Transforming Local Color to Local Value"
"Local Color" should be those color above.
Then what is "Local Value"?
Hopefully like this!
Ideally each square could be defined how much percent of gray there is such as 18% gray, 32% gray, 48% gray, 8% gray.....
In reality, not really...
Working with graphite pencils is always such a pain job for me.
On the critic day I got B because it is overall too light which I agree.
Now only pain left...18% depression, 32% congestion, 48% back pain, 8% nervous breakdown....
Even though I got B with such a great amount effort, this practice is really helpful to be aware values.

Light Scoop Review
This is an image with built-in camera flash. Not so good!
I try to use new gear, light scoop.
Its brand name KOBRE and looks like this
My camera is D7000, it is NOT on the models of the listed DSLRs(HAHAHA), lists are D40....D90...D300...D5000 something like that.
Anyway I want to try to use it.
I put it on my camera, select the widest aperture and set the shutter speed 200.
Do not use camera zoom and make sure the celling is white and low enough blah blah blah...
Take a shoot!
Much better!

How to Choose the best photo
I take multiple photos in same scene just as other photographers do. But the thing is that picking the best ones is much harder than taking multiple shots. During I had good time with my sister's family include my great nieces and nephew I took multiple photos every time something happen I wanted take photo with my iPhone. It was less than two hours I stayed with them but it took me all day long to pick good ones. Probably I took some time to look at the photos remembering how they were so lovely.
I pick this photo as the best one in a series because it has most clear and strong facial expression. Other photos have less strong and have more my sisters face in front which could be reason for distracting focus on the baby.
It will be challenge every time to pick the best one. Better study!!

Images from a concert
It was second time I enjoy their playing but I still don't remember their name. They play famous songs but don't remember that too. They are my husband's favorite band. That's why. But I love the band playing.
I took some photography during concert with Auto ISO sensitivity control which I just found how to set. Every time I set ISO by myself. It was OK until I took the shot hockey play outside at night. So much noise came out. The worst thing was I left the high ISO even though it was not necessary anymore. So when I found Auto ISO sensitivity control I was really happy.
I set the Maximum ISO 6400 and minimum shutter 1/30s. I should have set High ISO NR too but I didn't because I forgot. My camera stayed between 1400~2000 which was much lower than the ISO at hockey night but I got many blurry images. That's because I took almost every shot with shutter speed 1/30s. Either I should have used tripod or set the faster shutter speed. Furthermore many case I used camera zoom which required faster shutter speed. The reason why I set the minimum shutter 1/30s was that the book which explain about Auto ISO sensitivity control did that. Well. I am still happy about I know Auto ISO sensitivity control.
The concert was great! The place which the concert held is right next to the train rail. It must bother the music sound but personally I like it. I saw few trains pass by over the window which was cool. I like there are windows at the behind stage. The building was factory something long time ago. The best thing was nobody bothered me while I took photos!
